Meet us at the Annual Meeting of Association of American Feed Officials
Posted 22 June, 2017
A good understanding of regulations is essential for any firm wishing to market animal feed in the USA.
AAFCO is a voluntary organisation of state and federal feed agencies advised by industry representatives with the purpose of designing feed regulations that are fair and equitable to both consumers and industry. Although it has no regulatory authority, the association provides a forum for industry representatives to achieve three main goals:
- Ensure consumer protection
- Safeguard the health of animals and humans
- Provide a level playing field of orderly commerce for the animal feed industry
These goals are achieved by developing and implementing uniform and equitable laws, regulations, standards, definitions and enforcement policies for regulating the manufacture, distribution and sale of animal feeds – resulting in safe, effective and useful feeds by promoting uniformity amongst member agencies.
AAFCO hold an annual meeting to enable control officials and individuals from the animal food industry to better understand and interpret the regulations. It is also a good opportunity to learn about recent changes and updates in the registration process and to network with FDA officials.
As well as participating in the AAFCO meeting, Pen & Tec will take part in the Pet Food Labelling Workshop, which will cover the basics of pet and specialty pet food labelling and more complex issues such as product claims.
If you are planning to attend the event this year, please feel free to contact us to arrange a meeting.
