As a result, participants can expect diverse perspectives, practical insights, and meaningful discussion throughout the two days. An overview is provided below.

EFSA: Guidance, Applications, and What Comes Next

To start, EFSA will share the latest updates on microorganisms in feed and food, including new guidance and MOPs. In addition, EFSA will address novel foods, highlighting common pitfalls in applications and how to avoid them.

Furthermore, EFSA will host a dedicated information booth, giving applicants the opportunity to engage directly and ask questions.

GB–EU Regulatory Alignment

Meanwhile, Great Britain and the EU are moving toward an agreement under which GB is expected to accept EU applications from mid‑2027. Learn more about the timelines, implications, and next steps directly from DEFRA.

Alternative Proteins, NAMs and food enzymes

From EFSA Opinion to Market Approval

But what happens after EFSA adopts a positive opinion? A SCOPAFF delegate (MAPA) will explain the post‑EFSA process, outline common challenges, and share lessons learned.

Innovation in action

Innovation is already delivering tangible results. For example, Nestlé Purina’s Lisa Conboy will present the approval of the first‑ever physiological condition stabiliser for dogs, supporting stress resilience. In addition, explore cutting‑edge developments in:
